I am running a PC with Windows 7 and Adobe Photoshop CS6. The free download is the full version of DaVinci Resolve, redesigned to work on the iPad, and it contains most of the features that video editors need. Though it's free and open source, it's not a trial version. There is an optional in-app upgrade to DaVinci Resolve Studio for $95. If you are just starting out, you don't need the studio edition. If you want more options, the $75 upgrade is smart. The free version is more than enough for most people to achieve their goals. Avid Media Composer, which is similar to DaVinci Resolve, costs $2995. For example, Resolve costs $499 for a single-user license. It's still a lot less expensive than Premiere Pro or Avid Media Composer. The pricing is a little too high compared to the other major NLE (non-linear editing) software out there. If you're looking to color grade or edit 4K, HDR, or VR footage, the answer is yes, if you can afford the studio and the talent needed to use it. If you're a hobbyist or just starting out, you can play with the free version first, then buy it when you need it. If you work in an industry that could use more of DaVinci Resolve, you could easily look to purchase a license for your team as well. Davinci Resolve 12 Free Download For Mac EXCLUSIVE
